Gabrielle Lawrence is a freelance writer, editor, and writing instructor from Southern California. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Central Arkansas, and her BA in English from Azusa Pacific University.
Gabrielle is the Editor-in-Chief of Linden Avenue Literary Journal, a journal of poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction that offers open space and a level playing field for writers from all walks of life. She is an interview correspondent for TERSE. Journal, and a former graduate fellow at the Oxford American Magazine.
Her poems have been nominated for Best of the Net and Best New Poets. You can find her work in Another Chicago Magazine, Rising Phoenix Review, The Squawk Back, Gravel Magazine, Sundog Lit, and others.
She is inspired by heritage, history, identity politics, music, and womanism. Her interests include hybrid genre, experimental forms, trauma narrative, deconstructing language hierarchies and local arts advocacy projects.
